Rtn. Ajay Sood was born on October 28, 1972, into the esteemed family of Late Sh. K.C. Sood and Smt. Nirmal Sood. A second-generation Rotarian, Ajay draws inspiration from his father, a Charter Member of the Rotary Club Palampur. He completed his schooling at DAV School, Palampur, and pursued his undergraduate studies at DAV College, Kangra, and later graduation from GGDSD College, Baijnath. He went on to earn his Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) from IEC, Palampur in 1994-95.

Ajay's leadership journey began early—he was elected Joint Secretary of the Students' Central Association in 1993-94 and served as President of the Rotaract Club, Baijnath in 1992-93. Inspired and guided by Dr. Shiv Kumar, he joianed Rotary in 2003.

Professionally, he manages the well-known Sood Enterprises in Palampur, continuing the family legacy with dedication and integrity. Known for his soft-spoken nature, organizational skills, and commitment to community service, Ajay is actively involved in several social initiatives. He serves as the Joint Secretary of the Blooda Bank Society, Palampur, which is widely recognized for its humanitarian contributions. He is also the Treasurer of both the Go-Sadan and Crematorium Committee in Palampur and holds a government-nominated position on the Rogi Kalyan Samiti at Civil Hospital, Palampur.

During the Rotary year 2023-24, he served as Secretary of Rotary Club Palampur, earning the title of Best Secretary in the HP Zone. Under his tenure, the club received the Overall Best Club Trophy in District 3070.

Ajay is happily married to Mrs. Priyanka Sood, a dedicated government school teacher. They are blessed with two talented sons, Achyut and Arihant.
